The H6X is the latest H body from Hasselblad which adds functionality for the HCD 24mm, HCD 28mm and the HCD 35-90mm lenses, film magazines and 3rd party digital backs like Phase One and Mamiya Leaf. For 3rd party digital backs, the H6X offers the same functionality as the H5X.

Full H1 and H2 functionality – and more

The H6X is designed to provide the same extensive functionality as the H1 and H2 cameras. It also adds a number of new functions such as:

  • HCD lens compatibility
  • HVD 90x viewfinder optimised for 36 × 48mm format
  • HV 90x-II viewfinder optimised for the film and 40.2 × 53.7mm format

True Focus and Absolute Position Lock

True Focus helps solve one of the most lingering challenges that faces serious photographers today: true, accurate focusing throughout the image field. Without multi-point autofocus a typical autofocus camera can only correctly measure focus on a subject that is in the centre of the image. When a photographer wants to focus on a subject outside the centre area, they have to lock focus on the subject and then re-compose the image. In short distances especially, this re-composing causes focus error, as the plane of focus sharpness follows the camera’s movement, perpendicular to the axis of the lens.

HC 4.0-5.6/35-90mm

The HCD 4-5,6/35-90mm adds a gorgeous wide angle zoom to the line of HC/HCD lenses. With its 82 degree angle of view on the wide end and a mild telephoto effect at the top end, it’s as universal as a Swiss army knife. Thanks to its compact size and moderate weight, it’s the perfect outdoor companion to any H camera.
Please note, however, that this lens is designed specifically for the H3D and later camera models and is for digital use only. Consequently it is not compatible with the film magazine HM 16-32, the film magazine HMi 100 or the Converter H1.7x.
